Hi all, Thanks for all yoiur past help. I'm gonna miss you!

I wanted to post the following emessage sooner but too much going on. Looks like they'll keep the raffles going right up to the 31st according to the message below- which is a response to my irate email .... sls

Thank you for taking time to express your thoughts. Here are some comments in response:

- there are many factors for the gap between your inquiry and yesterday's announcement. Unfortunately, we did not have control over all of them, because there are other parties involved in running this program, and the delay was not something that was intentional or planned.

- we have many raffles where all prizes are not given away and others with as few as 25 entries

- .......if our systems are accurate, a quick check by our current Rewards coordinator indicates you haven't entered any auctions or raffles since August (when she started working here), so if I may guess your inquiry about how raffles winners are chosen (random draw by the way) that it also pre-dates her arrival here. Either way, I do apologize that you did not receive a reply - that's not how we like to do things

- we have a team of people who are continuing to actively seek as many items as possible to include in Rewards between now and December 31

- as always, raffles will continue to close every Sunday, with new ones starting on Mondays (so the 21st, specific to your query). in fact, there will be new ones added regularly - as soon as we have the prizing in hand they will become active

- after surveying the current picture of Rewards, we purposely decided that having NO auctions would be the most fair way to allocate the remaining prizing

As to our regard for the listening audience, the overall long-term benefits to them topped our reasons for reaching this decision, because if we don't have an audience, than we have nothing. Doing the opposite would obviously be counter productive (at the very least).

Thank you,

here is a 40+ year listener to CFRB leaving to go to 99.1fm. What does that tell you, Astral Media, that you only care for the younger audience and have done nothing to accomodate your longtime listeners.

Well at least someone got a direct response - hurray. It seems that he is saying that they made a decision without having everyone's agreement and without working out the details. I would have been interested in what random draw meant.

I too would like to thank all involved in this site. I have never won anything and could never bid high enough --- so logically I saved my points to try to get just one thing. Then they changed the rules and took away any opportunity. It would have been better to make some careful plans and give three months notice and allow some bid items for the long time loyal listeners.
Yes it was just a game and the points only cost our time to listen, enter and earn but it is the fairness factor which was missing which I think caused the upset.
To all a special holiday greeting, wish I would have found this site much earlier. I will keep checking and hope the site will continue for some time yet. I did manage to beat some others with codes on some occasions but some are so fast.
A special thank you to those who expressed gratitude on a numer of occasions to those who submitted items.

David Lindores' last paragraph must be a joke. What a load of double talk - he must think we are all IDIOTS!!
I hope he reads this and realizes that he is not gaining an audience at all by these current decisions, they are losing more and more of their long term audience, who they should be trying to keep. If they are trying to get "hip" with the younger audience then they better include some current music too - seems like "age discrimination" is hitting this station as well. Virgin and it's many texting only contests really bug me - and they brag about their cheaper texting costs - Yipee!! I already pay a phone bill and a cell phone bill, now I can add texting costs, get real!!!! When they lose their audience, along with the sponsors for that audience, then maybe they will wake up and smell the coffee they've burned.
