What is the special message spend your points before Dec. 31 does this mean it is the end of Bonus Points. Does anyone have this message sent and what is your take on it. Just wondering. Thanks for allthe help getting ourpoints toallthe dedica«ted ones who post I am truly thankful.
Is it that they are getting rid of the rewards of all the stations? I received 1 for EZ rock as well.

Well so long points program if that is what is happening. I guess i will be listening at lot less in the new year with all the changes and now that Rick Hodge is gone the sports don't seem as fun to listen to and I'm really going to miss his commentary.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THE MOTTS ARE GONE NOW BUT WHY DO THEY STILL HAVE THEIR COMMERCIALS ON CFRB

Well it looks like the "rewards" program is leaving us too, on December 31st!!
I've been waiting for this news, with the incompetent staff that's been looking after it. Am I misinterpreting this where the bonus codes are entered? - "make sure you use up your points by midnight Dec. 31", on all the great raffles and lousy items to bid on! Saving points has just been a waste of time.
Thanks Astral Media, you're the best at making all the wrong decisions!! I can't believe Rick Hodge is gone...He should have stayed with CHUM FM, where he spent many years.
Oh I just received an email to confirm that rewards is ending, although they don't actually say it.

I'm just curious, did anyone else who was in the top 5 of the November MINIPUTT Tournament NOT receive the (pointless) points for keeping a low score???...there are 4 other people out there....please let me know.

I know this sounds dumb. But I was a loyal listener to this station. I am in a car for my work. Now with all of these changes on the station and the ending of this program. I will not be listening anymore. Wow! After all of this time spent putting in codes.

It must be something the arrogant and boastful Bill Carroll who suggested taking away the Rewards Points. Bill always had his " Word of the Day " recored by someone else while ALL the others did their own words.
Sure wish they would get RID of BILL CARROLL. It's not entertaining to listen to him judge and belittle every caller who takes the time to call in.
He loves to ALWAYS be right with his own opinion and be rude to anyone who differs from him.
Wish there were more gentlemen like John Tory and John Dobabie on staff. Guys who respect their listeners.
This is NOT the only station in the GTA.
The station must be in financal trouble firing all the talented staff that they did have.

I suspected the end of the BONUS POINTS was nearing an end. Check out the raffles today...they have movie passes for The Princess and the Frog that says ends on Dec.6 at the top and at the bottom it says raffle tickets ends NOV 29, 6 pm..well today is DEC 1st. Shouldn't the raffle been taken off???? SO what happens to those who buy tickets AFTER the 29th?????MM
You know what bothers me as well. How they left their message unclear on purpose. They never say this is the end of the program. They just give the warning to use up all of your points!! urg.....thanks everyone for all of your input!!

When Virgin ended they didn't pussyfoot around it, they said it was ending. I agree this message is very vague, but probably is the end of the program. As some of you have said, it's been badly run for a while now anyway. There isn't even an auction today but a bunch of new daily raffles, like they want to buy us off ASAP lol.
Figures - after intently listening for codes all this time, I just discovered this site last week!
heads up,,, I called both EZ rock and CFRB and found out that as of the new year your points go down to 1000. you have to start all over again... this sucks.
i guess its all the accused "cheating" going on with the rewards program.
Risk 05 - I don't think it's because of us lowly "cheaters". I think they need to start fresh with the new (less competent) staff, who just haven't been able to get things straight since they've been looking after the program.
I have to admit this is really bizarre! Haven't looked lately today, but there was nothing to bid on earlier, leaving you only the option of buying raffle tickets a.k.a. throwing away your points.
when I signed up ( during the Tilley endurable raffle) it did state that they would reset people back to 1000 points periodically.

The Motts commercials are obviously still earning them some income & the companies they advertise for are still CFRB sponsors I would think this is the reason they are still playing them. They are on the other stations also. Wouldn't the commercials belong to the sponsors?

This is a suggestion to all of you who have expressed reservations about whether or not you want to continue listening to CFRB, but especially to Anonymous 11:06 a.m. ...
Give CBC Radio One (99.1 FM, in the Greater Toronto Area) a try! :-) I now listen to them in the mornings seven days a week, and to several of their other programs throughout the week.
The CBC does not have Bonus Reward Points, nor anything equivalent thereto. And they do not usually give away prizes on CBC Radio's morning programs. (Once in a while, they do, but not very often.) But CBC Radio One does have something that they have not had on CFRB for several years ... INTELLIGENT SPEECH!

If in fact they plan to reset the bonus points to 1000 why not state the facts? Why are they so vague about everything? It would be nice if they had stated the reason why they want us to use up the points...It's almost written like the last week will be full of prizes but I just think they mean whatever prizes they offer from now until then....MM
Hey everyone Bill C. has a new idea for Fridays...he plans to have an open free for all...People can phone in and talk about ANYTHING. I wonder how many people will actually call in with suggestions????When I first joined 1010 they sent a survey asking for our input...sure wish they would have continued with that..

Quit picking on Bill C. I still like him. Not all of us like or dislike the same radio personalities. It took me awhile to like Jim Richards. I still don't like John Moore! I miss the Motts, and for a new guy on the block, John Tory sounds more professional than a lot of them do.
Yes, I will try CBC soon also. Getting tired of them speaking of the same topic all day long!!!
