Yea... sad to come in here and see nothing isn't it? Ah well! You have a wonderful Christmas too.

to 6:46 am: BLAH BLAH BLAH...when you have been listening to a station for over 45 years, a big change makes a huge difference in peoples lives. You must be under 30 and new to 'newstalk 1010'. If you were an old CFRB listener, and your parents were CFRB listeners (who no longer listen either), you would better understand what this change means to some people. It has nothing to do with being 'juvenile' waiting for codes. That was only a small part of the fun. I am glad that you feel you are better informed than ever before, but I have books and newspapers for that, that don't repeat the same story over and over and over. You have a lovely holiday, 6:46, listening to newstalk. Don't forget to make that big donation to charity!

Happy Holidays to y'all
and a happy Festivus today!

I hope everyone comes back in the new year to post some comments on your final thoughts AFTER DEC. 31

I also hope that everyone still comes to post and/or comment on the discussions and topics of the day. I know i will be in here in the new year reading and commenting when i can on anything even if there wont be a rewards program in the new year.

I can only comment on CFRB over the last year. Yes, I find Bill C repetitive and John Moore is a little too "let's give everyone a second chance" for me, but if I don't like it, I shut it off. Jon Donabie, love him, seems really genuine. Spider Jones? 20 minutes of him and I want to pull my hair out:-)

I've won some stuff over this year and the staff has been nothing but wonderful.

I do feel bad for those of you who have listened for decades and "watched" it change so much, that's hard.

In the last 3 years, 2 of my favourite radio stations have changed format without any warning and even the one that stayed "the same" made some drastic staff changes.

It's not just CFRB it's ALL of the stations. I'm not sure if it's formats not making enough money, or just plain greed on the "owners" part. I'm not familiar enoughh with the situations to make that call, but there's no doubt, that the listeners get caught in the middle.

Anyway, Merry Christmas all, have a great holiday.

I'm with you on Spider Jones.... I don't make it to 10 minutes. I have tried hard to get him because I know he does have a good purpose in all he does, but he can't talk or interview.

Ballots for prizes you haven't entered?..funny thing I got that too. When I checked out the new prizes, I too, was surprised to see one had 5 entries...well that was news to be....
I also hope people will come back and post comments in the new year even if there won't be any codes...yeah,let's share our comments both pro and con...

"6:46" here. On the contrary, I have been listening to CFRB for a long long time and I will be 67 in January. Our generation have seen a lot of changes in our lives and as difficult as it is, we have to roll with the punches. I am absolutely amazed at my cell phone and gps for example. So, having lived through what I have, I don't get excited about change.

Odd that you mention about the ballots you didn't purchase...I bought at least 15 ballots on two accounts, and when I went to check them it showed no ballots were purchased, although my points were gone? I thought I was going crazy...now I'm just a little curious on how to get them back.

I think we're all going to miss the comaraderie that developed within this blog more than we'll miss the actual codes. It would be nice to keep the blog going just so we can touch base and share any good tips we discover related to ohter stations. I don't know who the keeper of the blog is but I hope it will continue. Used up a million points on the last raffle that closed on Dec. 20th and got zilch! Looking on the bright side I won't be a slave to the codes anymore! So much extra time .... nice!

Geez, Merry Christmas to you too!
Have any other nice comments to make? If you don't like this site, why are you here?

Anon @ 9:32 is obviously "Light-of-Day"(who must think is above all us mortals, according to that name). She published unbelievably similar and worse comments on the EZ Rock blog...this is very mild, but typical from her. She actually accused Erky Perky of being a criminal for running such a blog...by the way which she also uses? "I want a HYPOCRITE for Christmas".
Merry Christmas to all, even to Light-Of-Day...maybe you will see the light of day over Christmas!

To LIGHT OF DAY
If Virgin got out because of these blogs, that was done quite some time ago, so why would EZ Rock & 1010 continue if that were the case? All three stations are in the same building and run by the same company. The real fact is a cost factor...firing all those employees recently should be an indication that Astral Media is in trouble. Read the news, or even the station web page...there is no evidence to back up your presumptuous claim!
Wake up and see the light of day!

All the best for the holiday season and the new year.

The CHFI Rewards program is still going on, they're not bailing yet.

Yup. It's pretty much the exact switch 95.3 made in Hamilton. Same old same old as far as I can tell and they dumped all of their old DJ's too. EXACTLY the way 95.3 did. Oh well, as someone recently said to me "that's radio." Just glad it's not my career choice:P

Thanks to all who have posted bonus codes and info! I have enjoyed this a lot, especially while off on maternity leave last year. I won a few prizes and had fun :)
I joined the 680 News Insider Club as a 'replacement' and am wondering if anyone knows of an associated blog for bonus codes, info, etc?

Happy New Year!
